PADI IDC in Phuket Thailand - Welcome message
from Bjorn
Dear
Instructor Candidate,
Welcome to our Award-winning Instructor Development Program.
Choosing the right Course Director and CDC Center for your instructor
development is the most important decision you will make prior
to entering the dive industry as a professional educator.
There are many types of dive facilities available to you as
a student. Most local Instructor Development Centers (IDC) provide
a competent introductory scuba instruction course, but when you're
looking for more than entry-level you need the highest quality
facility available:
PADI's 5 Star Career Development Center !
The PADI 5 Star Career Development Center (CDC) is a PADI 5 Star
Instructor Development Center (IDC) that meets all PADI 5 Star
IDC requirements and has dedicated its business to professional
development training beyond introductory instructor development
courses.
The PADI CDC award recognizes progressive and professional 5
Star IDCs who have committed resources to dive industry career
training.
The philosophy of PADI's CDC award is that divers, PADI members
and the dive industry at large benefit from the PADI 5 Star CDCs
commitment to professional development and excellence.
Career oriented scuba instructors entering todays dive
industry seeking employment need knowledge and skills beyond
the
ability to teach diving. Dive Asia CDC meets this need.
PADI CDCs
provide programs that address professional training beyond the
instructor development process.
Dive Asia CDC is Phuket's first PADI 5 Star Career
Development Center and Diving College !

Special IE option for CDCs
Candidates enrolled in five pre-and/or post-IDC courses (Pre-study,
EFRI, Specialties etc.) OR candidates of a six-week career development
program who successfully complete a PADI IDC, conducted by the
CDC, may attend a PADI IE if they have been certified divers for
at least six months, have logged 60 dives and are certified PADI
Assistant Instructors (the AI course is part of the new IDC).
CDC candidates who successfully complete an IE and subsequently
meet the 100-logged-dive certification requirement will be certified
as PADI Instructors when their paperwork has been processed by
PADI.
Bjorn Tackmann IDCs: Fun & Friends !
Bjorns
Instructor Development program is intense, fun, demanding and
exciting all at the same time.
Candidates have fun; make new friends
and share rewarding life experiences while earning some of the
most coveted credentials in the dive industry.
In Bjorns
program you will feel like a person - a member of a team - not
a number. The philosophy behind our IDC is that it is "candidate
centered".
Our candidates are number one !
Our IDC emphasizes the importance of peer cooperation and encourages
team spirit, one of the single most important factors behind a
successful future as a diving professional.
The IDC staffs pledge is that you get the absolute best
possible support and back-up during the IDC, making it an efficient
and enjoyable experience. In this relaxed and well-tutored environment
you will benefit immensely from our program. To pursue our goal,
we limit the candidate/staff ratio to 4:1, although PADI IDC Standards
allow a ratio as high as 8:1.
Our IDC Staff is available for questions and assistance when
preparing home assignments, presentations and general considerations.
This is a unique part of our program.
We also know the importance of having IDC Staff Instructors speaking
your first language; available to clarify language related questions,
if needed.
Furthermore all our instructor training center's facilities
are available to you throughout the IDC, including computers,
free
e-mail, internet and wireless, LCD projectors, TVs, DVD
players, whiteboards, our complete and updated PADI
library, 20x20
m swimming pool, PADI materials, dvds etc.
During the IDC we include several additional staff
presentations. Our experience tells us, that what you really
need to become successful, both during the IE and in the future,
are extra knowledge development and open water teaching
presentations, open water
workshops and additional water skills practice.
Extra Workshops and presentations in your IDC include: Dive
Theory, Rescue practice, Controlled Emergency Swimming Ascents,
Hovering,
Buddy
Breathing
and how to control large groups of students when conditions are
less than favorable.
Optional
presentations include: Positive Approach Selling and Career
Tracking
Tips for the Diving Professional, eRDP and National Geographic
orientation.
It all adds to the perfect IDC learning experience!
By providing an outstanding service and support, we ensure that
you can concentrate fully on your IDC and reach your goal of becoming
a successful PADI Instructor!
